Executive roundtable series

The Interconnection Circle

Everyone is racing to build AI capacity, but the real constraint is power and interconnection, not just floor space.

For infrastructure, data centre strategy, facilities and technology leaders.

Region
APAC, six cities
Dates
October to November 2026
Access
By invitation
The premise

Space was never the scarce part.

// megawatts and cross connects, not square metres

Capacity planning conversations still tend to open with footprint, which is the one input that is rarely binding. Power availability, and the density of interconnection reachable from a given site, decide what can actually be deployed and when.

That is the starting point for this series. Not a product session, and not a briefing. A table of senior people working through how their own capacity plans are being reshaped by grid access and interconnection density rather than real estate.

Six cities across APAC, between October and November 2026. Each table runs under the Chatham House Rule.

The evidence
1.8B Total backlog in annualised base rent, in US dollars
1st Largest hyperscale lease in company history, signed in the first quarter of 2026

Digital Realty Q1 2026 results, 23 April 2026. Figures pending client verification.

What the table will cover

Three questions on the table.

Each table works through the same three questions, shaped by what the room brings to them.

Where the grid says no

The first question is practical: which markets each organisation has already been priced or timed out of on power alone, and how far ahead they are now planning as a result.

// tension: the lead time is on the substation, not the build

Interconnection density as strategy

This session looks at how much of an architecture decision is really a question of who else is in the building, and how organisations evaluate that when comparing sites.

// differentiator: a global, interconnection-dense platform

Hybrid gravity

Data has weight and it pulls compute toward it. The table works through where each organisation’s centre of gravity actually sits now, and whether their footprint reflects it.

// context: distributed architecture for hybrid AI deployments
The series

Six cities. One footprint.

Each city is its own table with its own room, confirmed independently. Registration of interest is open now, with dates and venues confirmed city by city.

Data centre demand continues to accelerate as hyperscale AI-oriented capacity advances.

Who is convening this

About the hosts.

Digital Realty

Digital Realty operates at the point where physical infrastructure meets network topology, which is a less glamorous position than it sounds and a more decisive one. Where a facility sits determines what can reach it.

The company delivers data centre, colocation and interconnection solutions through PlatformDIGITAL, its global platform, with a strong presence across APAC.

Innovatus Media

Innovatus Media is a Sydney based B2B events agency that runs invitation-only executive roundtable series across APAC, EMEA and North America.

We convene senior decision makers for closed door conversations on the problems they are actually working on, and produce every element of the series end to end, from the room and the table to the follow up.
